Security

With the development of the Information society, global enterprises and world governments need for real security. They need help to preemptively protect the availability, confidentiality and integrity of their information systems. This is not a new topic for BITE and we try to bring some innovative solutions to well known problems. Do not forget that our MSc "innovative Technology" involves some of the UK most well known specialists in IT security.

BITE currently develops practical researches on that area.

Probably, one of the most successfull results we have got is in the field of spam filtering. Using Kolmogorov complexity as backbone theory, we have developped a spam filtering technique providing accuracy rates in the range of 95%-97%. Starting with a classical k-nn algorithm to classify junk email, we went through a more powerful training component: Support Vectors Machines. Despite their strong theoretical foundations, both SVM and Kolmogorov theory provide amazing practical results (following V. Vapnik "There is nothing more practical than a good theory !").
