The Guaranteed Membership Scheme (GMS)
Management students may benefit from guaranteed membership of the Institute on successful completion of a qualifying management programme eg MBA.
The Institute's formal assessment processes are by-passed on the basis that the management qualification meets the qualifications' criterion for full membership. To be guaranteed Member (MCMI) grade the Business School must insist upon three years relevant management experience before students embark on the qualification, otherwise Associate (ACMI) grade will be guaranteed. Graduates offered Associate who can demonstrate three years management experience will be offered Member grade on application.
Features of GMS engagement:
• Student membership for all candidates on qualifying programmes - subscriptions can be paid by the students themselves or by the Business School on their behalf. On graduation students are offered Member (MCMI) or Associate (ACMI) grades without the need for formal assessment (a saving of £45 per student).
• Corporate Membership for the Business School – should the Business School be willing to pay student membership subscriptions by cohort we include a Corporate membership package, valued at over £700, for the Business School. This package allows you to nominate up to six members of your staff to have access to our member services (details of benefits below).
• Direct routes to membership on graduation - fast track assessment for your alumni and a discount of 10% from the first year's fees. The Institute will provide you with relevant text for your website and application forms in electronic or hard copy format as required.
• Minimal administration – membership applications are accompanied by the attached form giving basic information about the programme. We will need a graduation list for each cohort in order that we can contact the students to offer them membership. Subscriptions paid en bloc by the Business School will be invoiced up-front in the first year. Arrangements for subsequent years will be checked with you in advance of the renewal date to allow you to update the cohort.
