| BITE is based in East London Borough of Newham. It is one of the most culturally diverse areas in London.
At the British Institute of Technology and E-commerce you will come across culturally and linguistically diverse students and educators. Integrating all students into the academic life of the classroom, we allow them to demonstrate their unique qualities and, at the same time, to develop a learning community that transcends cultural and language differences.
The local amenities consist of a large number of reasonably priced restaurants and cafes, cinemas, leisure services, recreation grounds, parks, shopping centres and there is a variety of clubs and music venues for evening entertainment.
The borough of Newham's official website can be found at http://www.newham.gov.uk/
Canary Wharf
Canary Wharf is a thriving and vibrant business district with a wide range of pubs, shops, restaurants and wine bars, as well as healthcare and leisure facilities and an extensive arts and events programme. The vision of Canary Wharf is now a reality.

West Ham Football Club
The West Ham stadium is one of the highlights of the area. West Ham United Football Club has made massive strides over the past few years to establish itself as a major force in English football. In 1999, Chairman Terence Brown and his board of directors made the most important decision in the Club's history when they announced a massive £35 million redevelopment scheme for the Boleyn Ground. Building work commenced in the summer of 2000, with the capacity of the club brought up to over 40,000 by the end of the second phase of building. The team continues to be well supported with season ticket sales for 2002-03 reaching a new record.
More information on the stadium and the West Ham team can be found on the official site:

West Ham Park
Just a stone's throw from the Institute is West Ham Park. It includes sports facilities like tennis courts, a cricket ground, football grounds, a bowling green and a garden of peace and relaxation.
The park is very well maintained, and is a welcome break from the hustle of urban life. It is an ideal place to study in a beautiful environment.

Excel Exhibition Centre
In the heart of London Docklands, one mile east of Canary Wharf and one mile west of City Airport, ExCeL is the most stunning UK venue for trade or consumer exhibitions, conferences and events: an attractive waterfront environment - with stylish bars, restaurants and hotels - that is easy to get to by air, road, rail and water.

Greenwich
Greenwich lies on the south bank of the Thames, approximately five miles to the east of central London. Rich in maritime history and with an outstanding architectural heritage, Greenwich's more traditional attractions include many buildings designed by well-known English architects, including the Royal Naval College, the National Maritime Museum and the Old Royal Observatory situated in Greenwich Park, built by Sir Christopher Wren for King Charles II.
At the Observatory, visitors can stand astride longitude zero with one foot in the eastern and the other in the western hemisphere. Greenwich is certainly one of the most popular destinations in London. With a variety of fantastic markets, museums and the Millennium Dome all nested in beautiful surroundings, it is certainly worth a visit. It can be reached easily from BITE on the DLR or Jubilee Line. For more information see:
